FREQUENTLY ASKEDFrequently asked
Frequently asked
questions.
Still have a question?
Share your brief and we can help.
How should I send STL, OBJ, STEP or 3MF files?
The website previews STL and OBJ files up to 30 MB. For STEP, 3MF or other CAD formats, tell us the file type and send the original through our contact channel so we can assess any conversion or modelling needed.
Which units should an STL or OBJ file use?
Tell us the units used when creating the file and check the actual size again before sending. The viewer supports mm, cm and inches; dimensions in the enquiry summary are shown in millimetres.
Can I get a quote from images or an existing part?
Share images from several angles, actual dimensions, assembly locations and the intended function. We will assess measurement or modelling requirements and quote modelling separately from printing.
Can you make a part larger than the printer?
Some designs can be split into smaller parts and assembled later. Joints, loads and the acceptable finish must be reviewed before confirming the approach.
What should I specify for mating or assembly features?
Identify mating locations, counterpart dimensions and the fit you need. Provide numerical tolerances if available. For batches, review a sample before production.
Will prints have layer lines or support marks?
Layer lines or support contact points may remain, depending on geometry and process. For a smooth, painted or display finish, share a reference so we can assess additional finishing.
Will clear resin look like glass straight from printing?
Transparency depends on the resin, geometry and finishing. Sanding or coating may be needed. Share a reference and agree on the intended transparency before production.
How long does production take, and what is the starting price?
Price and lead time depend on the file, size, quantity, material, supports, finishing and queue. Each job is confirmed after review. Share any fixed deadline at the start.
How should I prepare for a production batch?
Specify quantity per design, colour, material, critical features and deadline. Plan a sample review to confirm shape, finish and assembly fit before the full batch.
Can similar-looking spare parts be used interchangeably?
Check the full model, revision, part number, mounting points, connectors and relevant specifications before ordering. Include photos of the original part and mounting location.
Has my preview file been uploaded?
No. The viewer runs in your browser and the file stays on your device. The enquiry tool creates a summary to copy. Send that summary and attach the actual file through our contact channel.
Can a part be used with food, in medical work or for critical loads?
Share the application and requirements before quoting. Materials, process and relevant standards must be reviewed for each case; a material name alone does not establish suitability.
